I was catching up on my XDA reading when I noticed there seems to be a lot more posters screaming in pain.  New changes are in bound. The Radio Interface Layer (RIL) software has just gone open sourced on 25 May.  CM added their own version of RIL, called Open RIL.  Nice thing is that it makes modem drivers truly plug and play.  Previously a matched pair needs to be maintained.
