The living room coffee table is getting really worn out. After 9.5 years of faithful service, it is literally coming apart. The glue that used to hold the solid wood planks together as dissipated and now the whole assembly is loose. We believed in a wooden coffee table as the glass top is high maintenance with safety issues.
The last slice of the bottom came off and we decided it is time for a replacement. The new guy is similarly from IKEA, a LACK coffee table. With exception of the the bottom tray, all parts are made of chipboard. After using a solid wood table, I wonder how long the new guy is going to last.
