A short cold trip to Seoul to meet up with my son finishing his internship. This is to help him bring his stuff back. Getting a suitcase to bring his extra stuff back is probably cheaper. This way I get to have a holiday out of it!!
There is a 30 deg C difference between Seoul and Singapore. If I were to put on thermals and jacket, I would die of heat stroke first. The alternative is to pack a light jacket and thermals in the day pack. Since I am travelling alone, I put a small suitcase into my large check in.
On arrival I just collect my luggage and booked a airport express bus transfer to the hotel. Very comfortable. It is a good idea to have the bus route and stops ready so that you know when to get off. I got off too early, requiring a taxi transfer.
I got to the hotel, meet up with the wife and son. Unpack and bundle up with cold weather gear for Klook’s night tour. It starts at 4pm and ends at 8pm. The day tours generally do not offer pickups, we have to make our own way to the meetup point, usually at a train station. Seoul train stations don’t have escalators and minimal lifts. The first night meetup point was at MyeongDong station, right next 12 stories of Daiso.

Wearing gloves can make operating touch devices like phones difficult. So, I sacrificed my right hand by keeping it ungloved and holding the phone with my left hand.
Scarves are overrated, neck warmers are much better. If you need to cover the nose and mouth, they stay in place.

The tour ended up at Gwangjang market and the family wanted to try something different.

Walking back to hotel, we discovered the pedestrian crossing has pavement mounted LEDs.
